Open Records Law

Pennsylvania Right-to-Know

On January 1, 2009, Act 3 (also known as the Open Records amendment to the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law) took effect at all local and state agencies in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Act 3 expands the definition of “public record,” making all records public, both electronic and hard copy, with 30 listed exceptions.

Act 3 requires the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington (RACW) to designate an official Open Records Officer to accept written requests from the public and to ensure compliance with timelines and the law. RACW has appointed the following person for that purpose:

Janelle M. Yamber
Office and Personnel Manager
Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington
100 West Beau Street, Suite 603
Washington, Pennsylvania
Fax: 724-228-6829

RACW is subject to compliance with Pennsylvania Right to Know Law. Therefore, to the extent one submits information or documentation to RACW, that person or corporation must submit a written statement detailing what records or information they believe is confidential and the legal authority. Therefore, RACW will comply with all Court Orders and Subpoenas under the Act.
