The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington (RACW) will receive bids for the WASHINGTON AREA HUMANE SOCIETY DEMOLITION PROJECT NO. LS 18-13. Bids must be postmarked by June 5, 2020 and mailed to RACW.  The original bid should be placed in a separate sealed envelope marked “Washington Area Humane Society Demolition Project” and placed in an outside envelope addressed to RACW, l00 West Beau Street, Suite 603, Washington, Pennsylvania 15301.  All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud on June 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM in a virtual bid opening.  To get information to participate in the virtual public bid opening, please call 724-228-6875 extension 222. Bids results will be posted on  Contractor will be required to comply with the safety guidance issued by Governor Tom Wolf in response to COVID-19.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty, which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. The form of the guaranty shall be in accordance with the type permitted under the contract documents.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project; that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap.

RACW reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding.  Bids may be held by RACW for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from the date of opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the contract.

In no event will RACW consider a contractor as eligible if he cannot initiate the work under the contract within 15 days of the contract execution and proceed to the successful completion of the work within 30 consecutive calendar days of the Notice to Proceed.
